Are you sure it was jill. Wasn't it Dr Gordon who wrote it to hoffman

Yes it was Dr. Gordon. That's been confirmed.

Most people say it was Jill (because of what she does in VI), but the notes were actually left by Dr. Gordon.

actually, in The Final Chapter, it reavealed that it was Dr. Gordan who left the note because Hoffman did NOT know that Dr.Gordan was helping John with the medical parts in his traps.

I think he had a idea, wouldn't he be suspicious when the games he sets up, the victims have had surgical operations done on them?

Well, he seemed pretty surprised at the end of SAW 7...
Maybe he didn't care, because he was too involved with his own "business"?
Apart from that, he's never really been portrayed as a detail guy...

I don't think he knew about dr. Gordon, I agree with Nina, he looks way too surprised at the ending of SAW VII

Dr. G left the second note, the first would have been Jigsaw because Dr G wasnt helping at that point.

Hoffman didnt know about Dr. G. i doubt even Amanda did, John used him as a fail safe in case things went wrong (which they did). There were no specifics in his tape in Saw VII 'if anything should happen to jill i want you to act immediately on my behalf' that could cover for any circumstance, then as John goes on to tell Gordon of the location of the bathroom it is an obvious hint as to wat Dr.G should do with anyone who harms Jill.
