Re: Laura Vandervoort was amazing in this film

In my view, her character was one of the hardest ones to pull off in the entire franchise... and she fucking killed it. Really fantastic job. I thought she was one of the highlights of the movie. The whole cast at the barn did an amazing job, I thought, and she stood out even more.

Re: Use of Flat Screen TV Made No Sense

The reality is that several people make a movie and set and prop designers thought Billy would look cool with red eyes, and probably had the HD TV available. I get the feeling they actually kept the ending secret from everybody that didn't need to know, which might've ended up hurting a few things, ...

Re: Why not the name of website

Stolberg on Twitter said he considered House of Jigsaw, Sawfrreaks (though this one makes a bit sense in-universe), and The Sawmill as alternate names on Twitter.

Re: "It can never be personal"...

No, it's actually an explanation. All of them at the barn were deliberately picked for a personal reason, and John tweaked his M.O. to make it not personal. He says so to Logan after he fucks up his sedation: "We can never come from anger or vengence, you taught me that." Logan clearly dis...

Re: Amanda and Hoffman know about Logan!

This is the danger of introducing so many retcons, you end up accidentally undermining what came before. Having to do it is a tough position to be in... and since they killed off their greatest asset in Tobin Bell, they've been having to do it so they can keep finding reasons to bring him back. I pe...

Re: Why the Montage Technique Was Not Used

The Spierigs wanted to do away with it, which I personally didn't think was a bad idea, and I did feel like while the lack of this editing trick helped add tension to certain scenes. It ended up overused in some of the other sequels. However, that technique brought intensity to other scenes before, ...

How a good film could've been perfect

As I've already posted about in the past, I'm generally pretty happy with Jigsaw. I don't think it was a bad movie in any way, and even think it had several brilliant ideas. In fact, I think in many ways, this is the best sequel since Saw II, and the strongest overall movie since the Whannell era. H...

Re: The New Jigsaw character

I definitely don't disagree with you, generally speaking. I do think the movie was a solid effort, and far better than Saw 7 for my tastes. I like a lot about it, and think the first two acts are near-perfect, especially when it comes to the events that occur in the past. I found that aspect fascina...

Re: Alternate edit of Mitch??

For some reason, I had the same experience where I didn't notice the first bit of him spinning with the gurgling noise the first time I saw it, but noticed it the second time. It's probably some weird thing with our brains or something, lol.
